Frequently Asked Questions

Features can feel complex. We’re here to help.

With Level Term Life Insurance, you can lock in your premium so it’s guaranteed to stay the same for your initial term of 10 years, giving you the reassurance that if your loved ones unexpectedly lost you, they would at least have the financial help of the insurance benefit you have arranged.

You may apply for anywhere between $100,000 and $2,000,000, in multiples of $10,000, if you are an ACP Member, Associate, Medical Student, Physician Affiliate, Non-Physician Affiliate, Fellow or Master under age 65 for the 10‑year term and a resident of the United States (except territories) and Puerto Rico.

You may also apply for coverage for your lawful spouse under age 65 for the 10‑year term for $100,000 to $2,000,000 of coverage, in multiples of $10,000. Your spouse coverage amount cannot exceed yours.

If your spouse is also an ACP member, they are eligible for either member or dependent coverage, but not both. If both you and your spouse are covered as members, neither may insure the other as spouse and only one may insure any eligible children.

You may reapply for new 10-yeal level term rates, if eligible or continue on a non-guaranteed basis if not approved.

Fast online application process with typically no medical exam. Just answer some health questions along with obtaining secure data sources such as prescription, medical claims history, and motor vehicle reports.

Yes, for coverage amounts of $250,000 and higher.

Request one payment equal to 50% of coverage amount for terminally ill insureds. Please consult your tax advisor for additional information.

Coverage will end when the insured person reaches age 75 (23 for children, 25 for children who are full-time students) or earlier if: (a) premium contributions are not paid when due, (b) the group policy is terminated or modified by the Policyholder to end insurance for the group of insureds to which the member belongs, and (c) if the insured requests to terminate insurance. In addition, dependent coverage will terminate when your coverage ends, or when the dependent eligibility requirements are no longer being met. Upon your death, coverage for your insured dependents may continue as described in the Certificate of Insurance.

The only exclusion is if death by suicide (whether sane or insane) occurs within 24 months from issue date (premiums returned).

Although your employer may offer life insurance coverage, it might not be enough to help provide for the many financial obligations your family would face on their own were they to lose you. Plus, unlike most employer-provided life insurance, this coverage is portable, meaning it can stay with you even if you change jobs (subject to U.S. government regulations on restricted nations and Group Policy terms governing termination of coverage).

Our member-exclusive rates are based on a history of favorable claims experience with ACP members. You can also take advantage of a 20% premium credit, although not guaranteed and subject to change, the Level Term Life Insurance program for ACP members has returned premium credits for several years.
